Gobble Gobble

November 22nd, 2006 at 04:12 am

This year has been strange. I wasn't certain where I was goiing to have Thanksgiving. I thought for a while I was going out of town, then I thought that I was having a house full of guests.

So I hurriedly cleaned the house and bought almost a 100.00 worth of food. I live alone and rarely have food in the house. This included a 12 lb Turkey

Tonight three of my guests have called and cancelled all with very good reasons I might add. So it is goiing to be me and one other person with a 12 lb Turkey and all of the trimming.

So how big is your freezer? I see turkey chili, turkey casserole, turkey burritos, turkey jello (just checking if you are reading, LOL) in your future.

I'd suggest you go and buy some small zip lock bags so you can freeze the leftover meat in reasonable size portions(and give some to your friend lest you start clucking)

Do you have any divided dishes with lids? I always make up a ton of homemade frozen TV dinners after Thanksgiving. It's great to have them ready for those days I just don't want to cook. I've had a lot of those lately so you can bet I'm going to be doing this this weekend.

Wow, you'll be eating turkey for awhile, is there anyone you know who you could invite (maybe a coworker who doesn't have a place to go or something?)
